Change is in the AIr

An indecisive messenger
Delivers unintelligibly
A pounding, crucial melody
The opposite of clarity
A turn, a stop, a quick look back
At costly held security
And up ahead
No clear way through
A path lost in obscurity
Intensity
Disparity
The Journey’s strange polarity
The drone of time supplanted by
A new refrain’s sincerity

  2. Went back and reread the last post. From this poem it sounds like your mind has been very busy these past few weeks. Thinking of you in hopes you are finding a greater peace with what you are remembering.

  5. Thank you all for leaving comments. I'm in a rough spot, for sure. While it's true I'm still working through some things from the past, I've really reached a place where most of that is behind me - literally. I've truly put big chunks of my past into the past, where it belongs.

The issue now is in my marriage. While I've been expanding my horizons, growing, stretching, my husband has not... he's the same emotionally unavailable person I fell in love with. It's not really fair - I've changed the rules in the middle of the game.

I told him I could not be married to him anymore, about two weeks ago. At that time he agreed to go to counseling with me every week, and he's working on some other things, but it still feels pretty tentative. It's sort of a coat of white-wash, and it's going to take more than that.

So - real life issues, and I find that hardest of all to write about and my mind is so confused, so unsure. Wonderful to know there are caring and understanding people out there.

    thanks again.

  6. Wow, this is a big step. You might want to consider the advice given to me by my counselor, give him some time to get to know the new you. You are doing wonderful things let that work on his heart for a bit. I hope it does work out the way you would like it to. Take care, Ruth

  7. Yes, it's hard and unfair on the partner when someone changes.

It depends on the basis of the relationship. If they really care about the person then I think we can be optimistic.

    It will take time usually.

I hope you can both get some support as you go through this process.
